Meet The Photographer
Hi there! My name is Harvey. I'm a seventeen year old photographer who's sharing his passion for the art of photography and looking to put that passion into what will hopefully become a successful future career.
My love for photography has been around for as long as I can remember. Growing up in the early 2000's, nearly everyone had a point and shoot digital camera, or a disposable camera; there was always at least five little digital cameras at family events, and the idea of being able to capture a whole memory at the click of a button fascinated me! Ever since then I have been infatuated with the idea of being able to do the same, both for myself, and others. My curiosity, and desire to explore photography came about when my Grandfather let me borrow his small DLSR camera, I took it home and fell in love with this incredible piece of technology. This pushed me to soon choose
to study photography for one of my GCSE's.
Not long ago I had completed my GCSE's of which I was awarded a grade 9 (A*) in photography. My heart and soul goes into my, now A Level, studies in photography.
To be able to learn this beautiful craft, and commit to it is such a privilege that not all people get to experience, thankfully I am gifted said privilege - and what a gift it is. Truthfully, there is nothing that scares me more than being confined to one space for a long period of time, which is why, in knowing myself as well as I do, I know that an office job downtown would not suit me at all - photography is my ticket, and escape from that; it means that I get to meet new people all the time, see humans in new lights, and experience new scenes which I do not believe I would have without my love for photography.
When I take a photograph of a person, I always have to make sure they are in love with the photograph themselves, if not, I start again from a different perspective. Certain people are comfortable in front of the camera, and others not so much - people need to love the photographs that their photographer takes of them, which is why I work extremely closely with my clients and like to understand their own "aesthetics" and desired outcomes from the photoshoot.
